[Webinar] COVID-19 and Senior Investment Scams
Recorded Live: Tuesday, May 12, 2020 @ 2:30pm Central

Scammers find COVID-19 irresistible. As part of their job description, scammers shift tactics and change their message to catch people off-guard, and never has that been more true than today, with a country full of consumers anxious for their health, waiting at their mailbox or watching their bank balances for stimulus money.
The list is long, as scams, phishing emails, identity theft, and fraud have increased exponentially since the start of this pandemic. Add to that a senior population isolated due to heightened risk from the virus, and you have a recipe for financial exploitation like never before.
The Senior Issues team at Bressler, Amery & Ross, in coordination with their COVID-19 Response Team, is taking the message to the streets in an all out effort to increase awareness of the vulnerabilities being exploited online and by phone. The panel will discuss COVID-19 related scams, regulatory responses, effects of isolation on senior and vulnerable investors, red flags of exploitation, best practices, and the laws, rules, and regulations that impact financial institutions.
